Clear Braces Direct Invisible Aligners

Our invisible aligner therapy includes several sets of tight-fitting, custom-made, BPA-free clear plastic trays that gradually shift teeth into their desired position.
Our invisible aligners come as a set of multiple aligners. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position, a process that is mapped out in advance by a Clear Braces Direct affiliated, duly licensed dentist or orthodontist who reviews your case. You’ll begin wearing a new set of aligners as prescribed, advancing you to the next stage of your new smile. We make it even easier by shipping your aligners directly to you.
Our aligners are made of a smooth, comfortable, BPA-free plastic that won't irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do.
Clear Braces Direct invisible aligners are scalloped and contoured to the gums which not only makes them more comfortable but also makes them suitable as whitening trays.
Every Clear Braces Direct order begins with a 3D scan and photos which forms the basis of your Smile Assessment. The invisible aligner system is designed for minor to moderate teeth correction, including space between teeth, crowding, rotations, and some bite correction. Am I a Suitable?
Typically, you will need to wait six weeks after having your third molars (or wisdom teeth) extracted before starting withClear Braces Direct. If your dentist or surgeon feels it’s safe, you may be able to start earlier with a signed release form from his or her practice.
If your dentist has recommended removal of wisdom teeth, then please follow that direction. If not, you can book a scan and a licensed dentist or orthodontist will review your smile for you.
Our aligners would not work for customers who have an implant.
Our aligners can work for some customers who have missing teeth. The licensed dentist or orthodontist assigned to you will assess your smile and determine if Smile Direct Club aligners are the best fit for you.

3D Scan Process

It’s your first step to getting a smile you’ll love. During your visit, a Smile Guide will take a 3D scan of your current smile, which will be sent over to a licensed dentist or orthodontist to oversee your new smile plan. The best part is you only have to go once, and it’s just 30 minutes. Bye bye, waiting rooms!
Our Scanning Centre is are located at 2-3 Salisbury Court, London EC4Y 8AA

Our Smile Guides use a highly accurate 3D optical camera to capture a digital map of your smile, including your teeth and gum lines. This 3D image helps us determine if our aligners are a fit for your smile and allows our lab to work with the dentist overseeing your case in creating your personalised treatment plan.
Smile Guides come from a variety of backgrounds and are trained to efficiently and accurately capture a 3D image of your smile. Many of our Smile Guides are registered dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, or Oral Health Educators. We actively monitor and evaluate the quality of their work—including your experience. Our Smile Guides are able to answer any questions you have about our service, our process, our technology, and most questions about straightening your smile using invisible aligners.

Treatment Process

Yes. Your new smile will be reviewed, modified, and approved by a duly licensed dentist or orthodontist. This ensures your new smile is improved and aligns within the "Standards of Care." Our team of treatment planners have successfully completed over 4000 smiles with this unique clear aligner system. More than any other group in the country!
Yes, after the 3D scan, we create a custom treatment plan which shows a before and after 3D visualization of how your teeth will move with treatment. You can see examples of how our custom treatment plans work by visiting our Results page.
The licensed dentist or orthodontist assigned to you will determine the best plan for your needs, but we straighten most smiles in an average of 6 months.
It’s possible. The aligners usually come in pairs and it is as much effort to remember to wear 2 as it is to wear 1.The licensed dentist or orthodontist assigned to your case will decide what the safest and best treatment option is for you. The cost of the treatment is the same whether you just treat one arch or both.
We include Chewies with your aligners to help you get a tighter fit. Simply insert your aligners, put your Chewie between your teeth, and chew as if it were a piece of gum. Use your Chewies for 10–15 minutes at a time, 2–3 times per day.
Wear your aligners 22 hours a day as directed by your prescribed smile plan. Take them out for eating and drinking.
Much like the days after a good workout at the gym, most people experience some tooth soreness for a few days after wearing new aligners. This is perfectly normal. It is a sign that your aligners are working, gently moving your teeth to their final destination. This soreness should gradually go away after the first few days of wearing new aligners. If the pain doesn't go away, contact our customer care team at
Most Clear Braces Direct customers don't need to make any additional visits to a dental office during their invisible aligner treatment, aside from regular dental cleanings.
If you lose one of your aligners, you will need to move onto your next aligner sooner. You can always wear your new set for a little longer to make up for the set you lost. Always keep your previous aligner in your red pot as a back up. If you lose all your aligners please contact the customer care team on
Once your treatment is complete you will need to revisit the Scanning Centre to scan the teeth for retainers. Without retainers your teeth have a tendency to move back to the original position over time.

We always include 1 set of heavy duty night time retainers within the cost of the treatment.
As with any orthodontic treatment, you'll need to wear a retainer regularly to maintain your new smile. Safeguard your new smile by wearing our custom-fit Clear Braces Direct invisible retainers 24 hours a day (except for eating and drinking) for the first two weeks. After that, you'll want to wear your retainers only while you sleep.

Protect your investment! - We strongly recommend you sign up to our ‘Retainer for Life Program!

For as little as £5 a month you can insure yourself against loss or breakage of your retainer which would allow you to claim 1 additional upper and lower retainer per year.

Without insurance, additional aligners would cost £95 per arch.
If at the end of your smile plan, having followed the following guidelines, you haven’t achieved the smile you love, come and see our Smile Guide at any one of our scanning centres so your dentist or orthodontist can re-evaluate your results. If your re-evaluation is approved, you will be eligible for upto 14 additional aligners to continue your journey.
